Update 26

Good afternoon all,  Jeremy's has had a better day then some in his recent past.  His fevers have been low grade (around 99).  This is most neuro and not from infection.  He had a Arterial catheter  placed a couple days ago that was pulled out last night.  Just one less thing to cause infection.  His vitals have all been stable over night and during the course of the day today.   The  neurosurgeon will be replacing the catheter in his head tonight or tomorrow.  It's been in a week now and they are just going to put a new one in for sterility sake.  As we mentioned the doctors have started talking about a tracheotomy.  Being the respiratory therapist I assure you this is not as bad as it sounds.  Its the right thing to do.  However this will not be done till the end of the week.  If jeremy can support his own breathing as he comes off of sedation it may not even be needed.  Keep your prayers up.  We are very grateful for all your support!

Eric
