October 25

I was watching Jeremy in speech therapy today. Normally Jeremy's grandfather is around during speech therapy and he, in the past has made statements like, "he can read". After they gave Jeremy a book about 2 weeks ago papa told us that he could read. Some how I thought that was and exaggeration or something. Although when I asked him when his birthday was or questions like that he did point to the right word. Anyway - during speech today she had about 20 pictures that she held up one at a time and asked Jeremy if he knew what the object was. Carrot, house, suit etc. Sometimes with brain injuries or strokes, you know what the object is but you cant think of the word. I think that was the case today with some of these objects. He said he didn't know about 45% of the time. (that is improved from 2 weeks ago he only got about 10% correct). If he didn't know what the object was she uncovered the name of the object at the bottom of the card and Jeremy read it every time. COOL!!

His nurse tonight hadn't seen him in about 6 weeks or so. When she walked in and said hi to Jeremy and he said hi back, she cried. It's so cool, some of these nurses are so involved with peoples recovery.

Please keep us in your prayers tomorrow as we make plans for the next chapter of this journey and that Jeremy will get an appetite again. Who knows what tomorrow will bring!?! God does - we are in good hands.
