May 17

We registered Jeremy with a In Home Health agency today. One step closer to bringing him home. We still have to find an agency that does Physical and occupational therapy in case they decide to give Jeremy some hours of Physical and occupational therapy once he gets home. I guess that is a possibility.

Jeremy was pretty tired today when I got to the hospital but he agreed when I asked he to go to see what was happening in physical therapy. He agreed to get up on the standing frame (30 minutes). When we started to raise him up to the standing position, something either hurt him or made him mad but it got him to his feet. He stood! All by himself. We had to hurry and tighten the strap that goes behind his seat for when the adrenalin passed. It was pretty cool!!!!! He ended up working out for over an hour.

Please pray for us as we continue to look for people to help us with Jeremy once we get him home! Thank you for your prayers and support!!

  2. Hi,

My name is Darren. I was the flight nurse on Medstar that transport Jeremy to Yakima on that horrible day in May. I have been following this blog for some time, and I'm amazed at the progress that Jeremy has made for such a severe brain injury. It is a testament to what the love and dedication of a wonderful family and God can have on someone in their healing. My experience as a critical care nurse has shown me that these types of tragedies do two things to families. They either pull together or fall apart. It is nothing but inspirational and moving and I must admit--brings tears to my eyes on how you have pulled together for Jeremy and each other. Jeremy may never be the same person he was before the accident, but I think what you guys accomplished is nothing but a miracle, and it’s given him the best chance on having a good life. You have taken something tragic and turned it into something inspiring. God may not always give us what we want, but he gives us what we need. I wish Jeremy and his family nothing but the best.

    Darren
